Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar has played down interest from Atletico Madrid.
The Spain U21 star insists he's happy at Roma.
“It's always a pleasure to know about the interest of such a team," he said. “Everything is going incredibly well in Rome, both on a personal and footballing level."
He also told the Corriere dello Sport: "In Rome they showed me a very ambitious project and they trusted me as a player.
“In Spain I was not presented with a project at the level of Roma, so I chose to go to Italy. I didn't have the opportunity to make my debut in La Liga and I have started to make myself known in Italy.
“I understand that in Spain there are people who don't even know who I am."
