Eric Garcia says he hasn't held talks with Barcelona, but admits it would be special to play with Lionel Messi.
The Manchester City defender has decided not to renew his contract with the club, leaving him to become a free agent this summer.
Garcia was recently called up for Spain's World Cup qualifiers against Greece, Georgie and Kosovo.
Speaking at a press conference, Garcia was asked about potentially playing with Messi in Catalonia, to which he replied: "Everyone knows that Messi is the best player in the world, it would be special for anyone [to play alongside him], week after week what he does is incredible."
Asked if he held talks with Barca, the 20-year-old responded: "No, neither [new president Joan] Laporta nor anyone else has contacted me.
"I made the decision not to renew [with City] - and what I will do, I don't know. The only option I have right now is to focus on the present."
