Manchester City chiefs haven't dropped interest in Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.
The Argentina international is off contract in June and saw a move to City blocked by former Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu last summer.
Marca says City remain interested in Messi.
The Premier League leaders are awaiting Messi's decision and will not make any official move until he knows first-hand - through a call from the player himself or his minders - that the Argentine wants to leave Barcelona.
From there, City would go after Messi and try to convince him not to opt for other offers.
