Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not believe the possibility of a European Super League diminishes a competition such as the Europa League.
The ESL was a real possibility, with United among 12 teams that wanted to form the breakaway league, which would have seen them not compete in the Europa League or Champions League.
But the plans were cancelled after fan and government backlashes, and United apologised for their decision to join the ESL.
Solskjaer and his players are preparing for a Europa League semi-final first leg against Roma on Thursday at Old Trafford.
"We have had a great night in this tournament before at the club and we know how much it means as a team and as a club," Solskjaer told reporters.
"Of course, our focus now is to get to the final and make sure the end of the season can finish with a celebration.
"As soon as we went out of the Champions League, our eyes and focus was on let's get to a final. I've noticed with the players that these games have been very important for them, for us.
"When you've got Sociedad, Granada, two good Spanish teams, AC Milan, Roma, with their history, we feel we've been in a proper competition and had to dig this out. And we've enjoyed it and we're one step away from the big one."
