Man in his 60s hurt in M’gatal fire

Kota Kinabalu: A man in his 60s sustained injuries when his house caught fire at Kampung Bukit Permai, in Manggatal, here, Saturday.

It was understood that the senior citizen stayed in the house with 10 other family members. All escaped unscathed except for the man who sustained serious burns to his body. 

Sabah Fire and Rescue Operations Centre on Saturday said 12 firefighters from Lintas were deployed to the scene following a 1.42am distressed call.

The team brought the fire under control at about 1.42am with operations ending at 3.05am. The cause of fire and estimated loss are still being probed.
