5,285 in Sabah lost jobs but vacancies still outnumber

Kota Kinabalu: Some 5,285 workers in Sabah lost their jobs since last year, said Social Security Organisation (Socso) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed (pic).

Citing data from the National Statistics Department, he said the country’s overall unemployment rate rose to 4.8 per cent in 2021, recording some 772,900 in Malaysia that are without jobs.
