Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is adamant they'll avoid relegation ahead of their clash with Burnley.
Newcastle are three points clear of 18th-placed Fulham.
Bruce said: "It always seems to be, 'Newcastle are involved in it', but we're involved with four or five other teams.
"We understand the severity of the situation. We're in the bottom half of the division because of inconsistency.
"Last week (against Spurs) was arguably as good as we've played all season, considering the opposition. We've banged the drum all week of taking that into Sunday. It's pointless if we don't.
"A lot has been levelled at us this season. At times the players don't play well enough, but there is a great spirit among them. A lot of them have been here a long time."
