Wagner Ribeiro says Real Madrid were willing to pay €300m to bring PSG star Neymar back to Spain.

Ribeiro was formerly the agent of Neymar and says two years after he left Barcelona for Paris, the Brazilian could've signed for Real Madrid for a world record fee.

He told L'Equipe: "At that time, he was close to going to Real Madrid. Madrid was willing to pay 300 million euros for him. Florentino told me. But Nasser refused.

"'Not for a thousand million, he is not going to go!' he said to me."

Ribeiro also said: "He is happy there. No club in the world can offer him what PSG offers him. Only they can afford Neymar. Madrid have financial problems. Barça? Even worse. In Italy neither and United and City, I don't think so. In Paris he earns a good living and plays in a very good team. This season they will win the Champions League and Neymar will be the Ballon d'Or."
