Liverpool's wage bill is now greater than rivals Manchester United's.

Liverpool's annual player wage bill soared above Manchester United as the Premier League Big Six's salaries were revealed.

The Mirror reports Manchester City topped the table, not for the first time, with a startling overall wage bill of £351m.

Then came Liverpool, who have jumped ahead of Manchester United by a whopping £50m, and are shelling out £325m to pay their players.

United are in third on £284, while Chelsea closely trail them by £1m with a figure standing at Chelsea £283m.

The two north London clubs round off the top six, with Arsenal 's wage bill for last season sitting at £225m.

While bitter rivals Tottenham are still only paying nearly half of City's overall salary contributions at £181m.
