Manchester United legend Gary Neville feared Edinson Cavani would fail at Old Trafford like fellow Radamel Falcao and Alexis Sanchez.
Like his fellow South Americans, Cavani arrived at United as a seasoned veteran.
But the Uruguayan has proven effective on and off the pitch, with his goal in the win over Tottenham on Sunday taking his season tally to seven league goals.
"He's been a really brilliant example," Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.
"I was a little bit nervous of him coming in, because of Falcao, Alexis Sanchez, showcase signings. This one has been different. He's really applied himself brilliantly and has been a big help to Manchester United. "He does the right things. The right movements. It's clockwork, that run across the defender, across the near post, the one you're always trying to get young strikers to do."
