Olympique Marseille will challenge Newcastle United for Jetro Willems this summer.
Willems is set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and has stated he'd welcome a return to Newcastle, where he spent last season on-loan. However, OM are also expected to try again after failing with a previous attempt.
L'Equipe's Mathieu Grégoire revealed, "(OM chief Pablo) Longoria is creative. For Jetro Willems, he offered an 18-month loan with a purchase option of 8 or 10 million euros with the option that would be lifted if OM go to the Champions League next season...
"Well, that did not work but he tried!"
