Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford says he can only focus on his own game as he seeks to gatecrash England's Euros squad.

The forward believes that putting in performances is the best way to prove to Gareth Southgate that he is deserving of a spot in the squad for this summer's European Championships.

"That's the only thing I can do," he said. "Get my head down and try and keep scoring.

"Score as many goals as I can between now and the Euros and then see what happens - it would be a dream to play for England."

Bamford joked that, if he still has a chance to win the golden boot, he will not be passing to his teammates that much come the end of the season.

"There's a good chance," he laughed.

"Put it this way, if I was close to the golden boot on the last game of the season, I'd be shooting from every opportunity."
