Newcastle United have enquired about Benfica fullback Nuno Taveres.
The 21-year-old has consistently been linked with a move to St. James' Park in recent months.
Despite serving as a back-up to Alex Grimaldo, Tavares has mustered 11 league appearances this season.
And according to Record, Newcastle have asked Benfica whether Tavares is available for a transfer this summer.
Burnley and Napoli have both been linked with Tavares in the past.
Tavares has an incredible €88m release clause, but it is believed a fee of €30m would get the deal done.
