Roma have made an attempt for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek this season, it has been revealed.
Ahead of tonight's Europa League semifinal first-leg at Old Trafford, La Repubblica reports Roma have sounded out United about a summer deal for Van de Beek. However, any move would depend on the midfielder accepting a cut on his €6m salary.
It would also require United to reconsider their valuation as upon Roma's approach they immediately demanded Nicola Zainolo in exchange.
But the Giallorosso is adamant Zainolo is not for sale.
Van de Beek is in his first season with United, having arrived last summer from Ajax.
