Tremors in Ranau

RANAU: The district again experienced tremors late Sunday night six years after the major earthquake took place.

The first incident which recorded a 2.8 magnitude occurred at 11.10pm at the coordinate 6.0 degree North, 116.6 degree East, 11kilometers to the West of Ranau, at the depth of 11 kilometers deep.

This was followed by a third two hours later at 1.05am which recorded a tremor of 2.7 to the richter scale.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the department had yet to receive any complaints from the public.

“However the BBP Ranau team is always ready to face any eventuality,” he said.
