Roma coach Paulo Fonseca says they deserve to be in the Europa League semifinals after their 1-1 draw with Ajax.
Roma reach the final four 3-2 on aggregate.
“I think we had more problems defensively in Amsterdam, whereas tonight we largely had Ajax under control. They are a team with a lot of quality, but we did really well in defence today," Fonseca told Sky Italia.
“It's difficult to play a team with that kind of quality going forward. We played a very realistic game, knowing we had the 2-1 first leg advantage, and I think we took the right approach."
Roma now will face Manchester United in the semifinals.
“I've never reached a semi-final before, so this makes me very proud, especially as we are representing Italy right now. It's a source of pride for Roma and we are all very happy."
