Burnley manager Sean Dyche is hopeful goalkeeper Nick Pope will return for next weekend's trip to Manchester United.

England international Pope was absent from Sunday's loss to Newcastle United.

Speaking after the defeat at Turf Moor, Dyche said of Pope: "He went down to make a save at Southampton and it (his shoulder) has settled down but we are in risk and reward territory when games come around like this one so in the end it was decided he wasn't quite right.

"We are hopeful for next week but we will see.

"Bailey came in late yesterday because we gave Popey until yesterday to make a decision and he did fine."
