Manchester United director John Murtough is in no danger of losing his job.

Ed Woodward recently hired Murtough to become United's first ever sporting director.

Things have changed at Old Trafford following the failed Super League proposal this week.

Woodward has announced he will leave the club this season, leaving some to suggest Murtough could follow.

However, the Express reports that isn't the case and Murtough will continue in his role.

Murtough is expected to play a large role in the club moving forward, particular with recruitment.

Woodward's reign was marred by numerous poor signings, a record Murtough will be hoping to fix.

United reportedly have several transfer targets this summer.

They include Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and his teammate Jadon Sancho, as well as West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
