Barcelona are ready to offer new terms to Sergi Roberto.
Sport says Barca want to renew his contract and he would like to stay. Negotiations have not yet begun but both sides have a common interest and in the coming weeks formal contact will happen.
The defensive utility has a contract until 2022, so the club want to get him on a new contract by this summer. They don't want him to walk away for free next year.
However neither party thinks it would come to that. He's the club's fourth captain, behind Leo Messi, Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets, and he is open to negotiate conscious of the economic context.
Barcelona plan ti reward him with more years to compensate for his lower salary.
