The father of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has recalled West Ham captain Declan Rice running around for the Blues.
Mount and Rice were with the Chelsea academy until the latter was released by the Blues aged 14.
Tony Mount recalled on talkSPORT: “It's been an amazing journey – Mason and Declan met at eight years of age.
“I remember the day Declan turned up for a trial and stuck one in the top corner from the centre of midfield. They signed him straight away.
“Mason and Declan hit it off from that moment on that pitch. They've been best friends and close ever since.
“Even when Declan left Chelsea they stayed friends. They were best mates. I go round Mason's house and Declan is there and the same vice versa.
“We are very close with Declan's mum and dad as well. As a family, we spent lots of time at tournaments and holidays with them and go out for dinner with them.
“It's just amazing and great to see them together."
