Manchester City coach Brian Kidd paid tribute to manager Pep Guardiola after Sunday's Carabao Cup final triumph over Tottenham.

The 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Wembley saw City defend the trophy for a fourth season in a row, equalling the record previously held by Liverpool since 1984.

Kidd told the club's website: “We'll be preparing for Wednesday's game (against PSG), there'll be no let up.

“The respect he (Guardiola) gives the Carabao Cup, there's no complacency and I think it speaks volumes winning it.

“Everyone's focused every day of the week, he doesn't treat it lightly no matter who we're playing.

“He prepares for the weakest in the four leagues like the best, everyone is treated with the same respect.

“I'm delighted for him, the players and staff."
