Fulham boss Scott Parker is putting emotion aside ahead of facing former club Newcastle United.

The ex-England international spent two years on Tyneside and was given the captain's armband by the late Glenn Roeder back in 2006, succeeding Alan Shearer.

"I had a very good time there," Parker explained.

"I spent two years (there) and found the Geordie people were very welcoming and it was a lovely place to be to play football.

"But this is football and the way football is and how players move around, managers as well, you're very professional and there's one focus from me and one aim from me and that's for us to be successful. Fulham Football Club, this team to be successful and try and stay in this division."
