Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic admits he had plenty of messages from Barcelona going into yesterday's victory over Atletico Madrid.
The former Barca star played a key role in the 1-0 win against the LaLiga leaders.
The result offers Barca the chance to eat further into Atletico's lead as they meet Real Valladolid on Monday night.
Rakitic told El Transistor: "Some friends from Barcelona had written to me, like, you know what you have to do ... but here each one fights for his own, we want to be in the Champions League."
He also was asked about beating former Barca teammate Luis Saurez, now of Atletico.
"I have spoken with Luis Suárez, we exchange shirts at the Wanda; when you lose you don't have friends, neither Suárez nor anything, nobody likes to lose," added Rakitic.
