Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has confirmed a new contract has been offered to Dwight Gayle.
Bruce has confirmed Gayle has been offered a new contract.
He told BBC Newcastle: "It's almost there, I believe. Good news for him."
Gayle's existing deal runs out at the end of this season leaving winger Jacob Murphy, defender Fede Fernandez and striker Andy Carroll all awaiting news on the contract front.
Both Henri Saivet and Christian Atsu are set to leave the club this summer.
