Liverpool right-back Neco Williams remains on Southampton's radar.
The Athletic says Southampton are exploring full-back options and consider Williams to have the "level of versatility" the club are looking for.
Liverpool already have Takumi Minamino on loan at St Mary's, and it remains to be seen whether they would consider letting Williams depart on loan next term.
Williams was linked with a loan move to Southampton in January.
The Wales international has battled for regular action at Liverpool this season as he battled for consistent form.
