Chelsea are eyeing Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl.
The Blues see Weigl as an alternative to No1 midfield transfer target Declan Rice, of West Ham.
O Jogo says Chelsea have made contact with Weigl's minders to register their interest and quiz him about an interest in moving to London this summer.
Indeed, Weigl is the No1 alternative for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who has long been a fan.
It was Tuchel who asked for him at Borussia Dortmund in 2015, and who tried to sign him in January and July 2019, then for French giants PSG.
Benfica coach Jorge Jesus will be reluctant to lose Weigl, though has been warned he will be sold for the right price.
