Joe Cole insists former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard can take credit if they win the Champions League tonight.
Cole believes that credit has to be given to Lampard for helping to build the team Thomas Tuchel will lead out against Manchester City tonight.
"I think it's positive for everyone concerned with the club," he told the Mirror.
"You have to look at the last 20 years for Chelsea - manager's change, squads rebound, you get a positive impact, can the managers [get a positive impact?]
"Thomas Tuchel has done a great job, he's got sustained quality.
"Frank has assembled a squad and he's brought these young players in. A Chelsea victory will shine brightly on not just Thomas Tuchel but also on Frank and the team behind Frank. They've developed these players in the academy who I know do great work.
"Chelsea are now producing players not just for Chelsea Football Club but who are playing all around the globe who have developed in that academy.
"We talk about the game and it being clear cut, it's Chelsea vs Man City, two wealthy, powerful clubs, but there's so much work that's gone on the years before to produce these teams and produce these players."
