Arsenal are facing an agonising wait to discover if they have done enough to sign Tiago Tomas from Sporting CP.
The 18-year-old is a prime target for the Gunners, as The Sun reports they have spent months talking to the Portuguese side about Tomas.
However, their failure to qualify for any European competition may be an issue.
Tomas has a £52 million release clause, which is unlikely to be lowered.
Arsenal will be hoping Sporting lower their demands, but if the price remains at that level, Tomas may be out of their reach.
