Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani admits he considered Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte for Elland Road.

Radrizzani says he fancied Conte as an alternative to Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa.

“I got to Bielsa via a first year full of mistakes and focusing on young coaches. The Championship is a tournament where a top level tactician makes all the difference in the world," Radrizzani told La Repubblica newspaper.

“I had first tried to tempt Antonio Conte with a promotion bonus worth 20m. When you step up into the Premier League, you get 200m, so I could afford it, but he had more immediate ambitions.

"The way things have gone prove he was right to go for Inter."
