Brighton have entered talks with Ajax for young goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.
The 21-year-old joined Ajax in July 2019 from FC Emmen.
However, he has found game time hard to come by this season making just four appearances for the Dutch Giants.
One of those appearances came in the Europa League in the first leg of their quarter-final against Roma at the Amsterdam Arena last month, where he made a huge mistake for Roma's winners palming Ibanez' free kick into his own net.
The Argus says no agreement is in place between the two clubs and Ajax are not keen on selling Scherpen.
If the Dutch prospect does join Albion, he will head back out on loan to the Netherlands to aid his development.
