Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola congratulated Brighton after Graham Potter's side claimed a 3-2 win at the AMEX on Tuesday.
With City down to 10-men early on, Albion fought back from two goals down to secure a memorable victory in front of their supporters.
"11 v 11 is tough but 10 v 11 for 80 minutes is so difficult," Guardiola said after the game.
"Congratulations to Brighton for the victory and the season.
"At 2-0 we conceded quickly. That's why it's nice to have already won the Premier League. Ilkay Gundogan got a kick. He started the second half but had niggles."
