Liverpool are still in talks to sign RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.
Losing three centre-backs to injury this season severely dented Liverpool's chances of defending the Premier League title.
The Reds are determined not to allow that to happen again and have identified 23-year-old Konate as their primary target.
Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news last week that a deal was in the offing, and has moved to reiterate those claims.
Konate reportedly has a £30.5m release clause.
