Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is not sure whether Ryan Bertrand is done as a Saints player.
The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and no agreement on a new deal appears in sight.
Bertrand has been with Southampton since 2014 and has played 240 times for the south coast club.
He is out with a calf issue that means he could miss the rest of the season.
Asked if Saints fans had seen the last of Bertrand with the first team, Hasenhuttl told reporters, per the Daily Echo: "I don't know.
"Hopefully not, but we don't know it."
