Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel insists they cannot afford to lose Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Both players have been linked with moves away this summer.
Babbel was asked if the duo were irreplaceable, and replied: "Yes, I can't see anyone at the moment coming in to replace them. If you have to replace them, you have to spend a lot of money.
"Even the clubs who have these types of players don't just give them away, because they know they are good, so they would want to keep them."
Babbel also told Unikrn: "For players who want to go, they can't earn as much money as they could have two or three years ago because every country and every club has had problems in the pandemic."
