Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is hoping to play for Spain at the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.

The centre-half was born in France, but was eligible for Spanish citizenship as well.

Now he has completed the relevant paperwork, according to Marca, and is ready to represent Spain at international level.

Laporte has Basque grandparents and he spent eight years with Athletic Bilbao before transferring to City in 2018.

The City star believes he has a far greater chance of playing regularly for Spain than France.
