Kota Kinabalu: The recent early warning shots by PBS that it wants to reclaim its “traditional” seats of Keningau and Tambunan directed at Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) ally Star Sabah are believed to be part of a proxy war involving two veteran politicians.Some believe beyond the claim and counter-claim is a desire by Kota Marudu MP and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) President Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili and Keningau MP Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who is also Tambunan Assemblyman and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) President, to be the community’s next Huguan Siou (paramount leader).
