Aston Villa boss Dean Smith says the club's owners want to see more youngsters coming through.
With Jacob Ramsey and Keinan Davis now regulars in Villa's matchday squad, Smith admits they're pleased with the academy's results.
He said: "Our academy has progressed really well and we have a good youth team and good under-23 players. There will be a time and a place to bring those in.
"We're looking to work with the young players and improve them. The vision of our owners is to have academy players come through into the first team."
Villa meet Manchester United on Sunday. Smith has confirmed that he will again be without captain Jack Grealish.
"He should start training with the group tomorrow (Friday)," said Smith. "He will play before the end of the season. Morgan Sanson is still out and will be back in training next week."
United face a fixture congestion having reached the Europa League final, while they have a rearranged game with Liverpool too, but Smith says it will not be a problem for them.
"I don't think it will," he added. "They're a big club and have been dealing with European competition for 25 years.
"I don't think they will change the way they play. Their squad is good enough to rotate. I'm more worried that they don't get any penalties against us. We've had some dodgy ones against us."
