Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has hinted a move to Roma is on the backburner.
New Roma coach Jose Mourinho has began working on shaping his squad ahead after replacing Paulo Fonseca earlier this month.
Xhaka, 28, has long been admired by the Portuguese tactician, and could join up with him in the Italian capital after five years at Arsenal.
Gazzetta Dello Sport says Roma are already locked in transfer negotiations with the Gunners over the Switzerland international.
It is reported that Roma's €13million initial offer has been rejected by Arsenal, who are holding out for closer to €20m.
Xhaka's future could be resolved in the coming weeks, but, for now, the Switzerland captain is only focusing on leading his country at a major tournament.
"Preparation for Euro2020 starts right now," he posted on social media ahead of the start of the Euros.
