Real Betis are eyeing a move for Newcastle United defender Federico Fernandez.
Betis sports chief Antonio Cordon is shopping in England for a new centre-half as they prepare to lose Aissa Mandi with his deal to expire at the end of next month.
AS says Fernandez is on Cordon's shortlist, along with West Ham United stopper Fabian Balbuena. Like Argentine Fernandez, Paraguay international Balbuena also comes off contract this summer.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is eager to add an experienced centre-half to his squad to replace Mandi.
However, Cordon has Real Madrid Castilla stopper Victor Chust also on his radar.
