Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk is hoping to gatecrash Holland's Euros plans.
Struijk's chances have received a lift after Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk announced today that he wouldn't be part of Holland's squad as he focuses on his recovery from knee surgery.
“I think I am a complete player: physically strong and good on the ball. In addition, I can also work in midfield. At Leeds I have been in the base 'on six' several times this year. So I can be deployed in multiple positions and in multiple systems," Struijk said.
He also told De Telegraaf: “Every week I show that I can perform in the strongest competition in the world.
"It is up to the national coach to determine who will be called up."
