Mike Ashley has hit out at "dark forces" preventing Newcastle being bought by Saudi Arabia.
The London businessmen has been attempting to sell Toon for £305milion to a consortium that would see the Gulf state become 89 per cent shareholder.
But the deal has stalled after it failed to pass the Premier League tests.
Ashley said: "After four years of the club being subjected to this investigation, I am pleased it has now been discontinued.
"It's now time for the dark forces that are preventing this football club from becoming the power house that the fans deserve, to step aside."
