KOTA KINABALU: The State Government decided, on Sunday, to impose a temporary ban on all individuals from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka into Sabah effective May 3.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, in a statement, said exemption to enter Sabah is given to Sabahans and their spouses (husband/wife) and children to Sabahans only.
However, he said, they have to comply with the mandatory 14-day quarantine at the gazetted quarantine centres. In addition, Hajiji said, ship crew with a history of travelling from the mentioned countries within 14 days are not allowed to carry out the “signoff” procedure in Sabah, except for Malaysian crew and must undergo a 14-day quarantine at the quarantine centres. On April 28, the State Government implemented a similar temporary ban on individuals from India, France, the US, Africa and Brazil.
