Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to test the resolve of Liverpool for Mohamed Salah.
The Liverpool striker, 28, joins Inter Milan centre-forward Romelu Lukaku and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland as summer targets.
Tuchel is determined to bolster his attack when the market reopens with a No9 thought to be his primary focus.
But BILD's football chief Christian Falk, the Blues want Salah too.
Salah joined Chelsea from Basel in January 2014 for £11million before eventually departing for Roma in 2016. A year later Liverpool paid £34m to bring him back to England.
