Brighton boss Graham Potter has apologised to Pep Guardiola and his staff after a heated disagreement was caught on camera following their 3-2 win against Manchester City at Falmer stadium.
At full time, Potter and Guardiola could be seen arguing on the sidelines.
Guardiola's backroom staff also weighed in, leaving a tense atmosphere between the two dugouts.
Asked about the incident in his post-match press conference, Guardiola refused to elaborate on what he'd said to Potter.
“No, what I should tell I say personally," he said.
Potter gave more detail on the incident and offered an apology to Guardiola and the City bench, admitting that he'd got carried away with his celebrations after Leandro Trossard gave Brighton a way back into the match.
“With the first goal, I was a bit emotional," he said.
“It wasn't my finest hour, I have to apologise for that.
"It wasn't meant with any intent or anything towards anybody, it was an emotional response from me, but it wasn't a good one, so I apologise to them.
“Like I said, no offence meant from my perspective but, again, I understand it wasn't a nice moment."
