Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has no regrets over last year's Champions League claims.
Former Chelsea star Willian revealed Arteta had lured him to Emirates Stadium by claiming the Gunners were aiming to win the Champions League during the course of his three-year deal.
His first year at the club sees them in ninth place, meaning they will not even be in the Champions League during Willian's second season at the club.
But Arteta reiterated: “It cannot be any other ambition at this football club, it cannot be. If you don't have that we won't reach it.
“There's only one winner in the Champions League and there is only one winner in the Premier League, the rest of the teams have failed. For any of the other teams finishing second or third is not a big achievement."
