Former West Bromwich Albion and Charlton Athletic attacker has been named as Everton's Academy Area Coordinator for London.

The new role was created last year as part of a scouting restructure.

The Liverpool Echo says the position was initially filled by Chris Scudder but he since accepted a job at West Ham United as their Emerging Talent Manager and left earlier this year.

Thomas came to Goodison in January having held a part-time scouting position at Chelsea and will be Everton's eyes and ears in the capital for talent aged under-13-u-18.

He will report directly into Everton's Head of Academy recruitment Chris Perkins.
