Arsenal legend Sol Campbell is no longer in consideration for the England Under-21 job.
The FA are seeking a replacement for Aidy Boothroyd, whose high profile failures eventually cost him the job.
According to The Sun, Campbell is now out of the running for the position, as the FA is going in a different direction.
Under-20s boss Lee Carsley is an option, while former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt is also in the running.
The Young Lions next play against Kosovo in September.
