Villarreal coach Unai Emery has dedicated their Europa League triumph to president Fernando Roig.
The Yellow Submarine won a first ever major trophy on Wednesday night with their marathon penalty shootout victory against Manchester United.
Emery said, "I'm proud of this project. We dedicate the title to Fernando Roig because he has built a project at the level of Spain, very important. He had setbacks and believed again.
"My goal was to give continuity, year after year ... I hope we are in Europe every year.
"Villarreal creates circumstances to reach these places. In the Cup, in the Europa League, now in the Champions League ... All of us who have participated ... we've done a lot. We break the semifinal barrier, but if you don't win it's useless.
