Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iversen admits a summer loan move to OH Leuven was made with the Euros in mind.

The switch was a disaster for the Dane, who is now starring with Preston North End.

He told Bold: "I thought about the national team a bit at the beginning of the season, and that was also why I chose Belgium, because they play the ball out, and that's how Denmark wants to play. So there you could show a lot.

"So I thought that if I played well, then maybe there was a small chance that I could make it. Then I played the first matches and was injured, and then it was closed again, because you would rather have the goalkeepers who have been there, than a young goalkeeper who has not been there before.

"Now I have started playing again, but if that is enough, I do not know. I hope so, of course, because that's the biggest thing if you get to a final round. It's not something I think about very much, because it's probably closed to me, but you are allowed to hope."
