Gabriel Martinelli has been excluded from Brazil's Tokyo Olympics squad.
It was assumed the Arsenal forward would be named in the 23-man travelling party.
Despite the disappointing news for Martinelli, it means the 19-year-old will be able to stay in London and participate in preseason training.
However the Gunners will lose Gabriel Magalhaes to the tournament.
